Slip Studio offers membership for clay artists and home potters seeking shared studio access, kiln firing services, and a welcoming creative community. Our studio is one large workspace, so space is limited. We use an application process to make sure our members’ needs and our studio’s vibe align. If you’re passionate about clay and would like to expand your knowledge and community, we’d love to hear from you!

Membership Details: 

  • Our Skutt kiln fires at least twice a week
  • Selection of studio-made & commercial glazes
  • Use of Amaco underglazes, slips, tools, and decorating materials
  • Bisque (cone 04) & high-fire glaze (cone 6) firings
  • Occasional luster & decal firings
  • Firing fees: 8 cents per cubic inch for combined bisque and glaze firings
  • Full kiln rental available
  • Clay bodies available for purchase
  • Member meet-ups, special topic workshops, holiday party, and more!
  • Member hours may vary due to workshops and private events

Perfect for home-studio artists needing kiln access and glazing support. Drop off your greenware for bisque firing anytime during business hours. Then come in to glaze anytime during open studio hours:

 

 

  • Tues-Thursday 1-6pm

Enjoy all the perks Slip Studio has to offer, including the use of two pottery wheels, slab roller, wall extruder, hump/slump molds and templates. Members must purchase their own clay and manage their own reclaim clay.

Membership Terms

Slip Studio membership includes access to our studio tools, equipment, and for firing finished pieces. We offer regular weekly firings in a small community environment.

 

All members must abide by the terms of use and show respect for others & their work, including cleaning up after themselves and keeping a tidy workspace All clay and glazes must be pre-approved for firing to cone 6 in an electric kiln.

 

Commercial glazes must be tested before use, using slab trays to catch drippings. Studio tools, brushes, sponges, and other supplies will be available for use during glazing sessions.

 

We do our best to maintain a standard that ensures the best possible outcome for everyone, Slip Studio is not responsible forbroken pieces or mishaps that may occur in the studio or in the firing process. Best practices for firing must be maintained by all members.
